eCYBERMISSION is a free, web-based science, math and technology competition for students in grades six through nine sponsored by the U.S. Army. eCYBERMISSION:
• Targets diverse participants of all proficiency levels, interests and backgrounds
• Asks students to think creatively, work in a team and positively affect their communities
• Promotes the importance of real-life applications of science, math and technology
• Rewards students with prizes and up to $8,000 in savings bonds
Why is the Army sponsoring a competition for students?
Originally proposed by retired General Eric Shinseki, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, eCYBERMISSION was created to:
• Increase the number of students interested in science, math and technology
• Return something to America’s communities for the service of their sons and daughters to the nation
• Support the nation’s commitment to education and the achievement of excellence in science and math
• Support our national security interests that require the latest in science and technology skills
