Information regarding various scholarships and deadlines can be found below.  Please read the instructions carefully for each scholarship application to ensure that you have correctly fulfilled the submission requirements.

The John Della Contrada Scholarship

Through the Rome Community Foundation, The John Della Contrada Scholarships are funded with an endowment established by parents, students, and the Della Contrada family to honor the longtime Rome educator and administrator including a 5-year tenure as principal of St. Peter’s Elementary School from 1998 to 2003.

The scholarship is intended, based on need, for kindergarten through sixth grade students at Rome Catholic School. The attached application along with the required essay should be mailed directly to the Rome Community Foundation by August 15, 2023.

This application must be mailed along with the required essay to the address listed on the application; please do not send it back to the school.

The Hazel D. Scheidelman Scholarship

The scholarship is intended, based on need, for kindergarten through twelfth grade students in the Eastern Region of the Diocese of Syracuse which includes Rome Catholic School, St. Patrick’s School (Oneida), Notre Dame Elementary School (Utica) and Notre Dame Jr/Sr High School (Utica).  If you have children in more than one of these schools, you only need to fill out one application.  Please take special note that the application is due to the principal by April 9th.  The application needs to be signed by the principal and then forwarded to The Good News Foundation.

*** In addition, each child’s school application form (or re-application form) must be received by the school(s) as well as a SMART Tuition Aid Analysis Application completed to be considered.

*** Reminder *** The deadline for the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment is February 15th and must be completed online.
